Helen works in the Human Resources department at Forsters and is involved in the Graduate Recruitment process.

How to Apply

All applications for the summer vacation scheme and training contracts should be made online via http://www.forstersgradrecruitment.gtios.com/. We do not accept paper applications or CVs.

Deadlines

  • 2010 Vacation Scheme – Applications should be submitted between 1 October 2009 and midnight on 28 February 2010
  • 2012 Training Contracts – Applications should be submitted between 1 October 2009 and midnight on 31 July 2010

All applications will be viewed by a member of the Graduate Recruitment Panel once the deadline has passed. This means that if you submit an application it will be taken into consideration in line with all other applications.

What we look for

We welcome applications from both law and non-law students. Amongst other things, we look for candidates with a strong academic background (320 UCAS points from three A Level results excluding General Studies and a 2.1 at degree level). When reviewing your application we also consider work experience (both legal and non-legal), sporting achievements and any positions of responsibility held. We also like to find out a little bit about you and your personality and what has inspired you into a career in the law.

We do not use any automatic filtering systems and all applications are individually viewed by a member of the graduate recruitment panel.

The Application Process

Training Contracts

  • Once the deadline has passed, all applications will be reviewed by the graduate recruitment panel.
  • If you are successful at this stage you will be offered a first round interview. We offer between 60 and 70 candidates a first interview. The first round interviews will be held over the first two weeks of August. All interviews will be held with two members of the graduate recruitment panel. You may be asked to analyse a legal article during your interview (no previous legal knowledge is required).
  • If you are successful at the first round interview, you will be invited back for a second interview. At the second interview you may be asked to do two short presentations. If this is the case you will be notified of this at the time that you are invited to interview. Again, all second interviews are conducted with two members of the graduate recruitment panel.

Vacation Scheme

  • Once the deadline has passed, all applications will be reviewed by the graduate recruitment panel.
  • If you are successful at this stage you will be offered an interview. We offer around 30 interviews each year. All interviews will be held with two members of the graduate recruitment panel.
  • There are no formal assessments and no second interviews.
